Manipur Government reshuffles 11 top officials
Digital desk: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Manipur government has transferred and posted 11 top officials belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Manipur Police Service (MPS).
This move comes after the imposition of President's Rule in strife-hit Manipur.
The transfers were ordered by the Chief Secretary, following the directive of Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
Notably, this is the first major reshuffle of top officials since the President's Rule was imposed.
The reshuffle involves several key appointments: Arun Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Forest & Environment, and Climate Change, has been assigned additional responsibilities.
Ning-thou-jam Geoffrey, former Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been moved to the role of Commissioner-cum-Secretary for Social Welfare and other departments.
Robert Singh Kshetri-mayum, previously Secretary Works and Lok Ayukta, will now serve as Secretary for Manipur Lok Ayukta only.
Mannu-amching, former Special Secretary for Horticulture, SC, and Higher Technical Education, has been posted as District Commissioner for Pherzawl.
Neilen-thang Telien, former Special Secretary for Finance, Planning, Vigilance, and Anti-Corruption, will now serve as Special Secretary (Finance/Planning/Vigilance & Anti-Corruption) & Director for Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
In the IPS cadre, - Nishit Kumar Ujjwal has been appointed as IGP (AP-II), Kabib K has been shifted to the role of IGP (Zone-II), Ningshen Worngam, former DIGP (NAB), has been promoted to IGP (Intelligence/NAB), S. Gautam Singh has been reassigned as Deputy Director at MPTC, Babitarani Swain has been transferred to the position of SP Chandel, Luikham
Lanmiyo, formerly in charge of Chandel, will now take on the role of in-charge SP for Tamenglong.
This reshuffle is seen as a significant move to streamline the administration in Manipur.
