Meghalaya's Pride: Rifiness Warjri's journey to Mt Everest

Digital Desk: Cadet Rifiness Warjri, a 20-year-old student from St. Anthony's College and a cadet of 61 Meghalaya Girls Battalion NCC, has made history by becoming the sole representative from the North Eastern Region to be part of the NCC Mount Everest Expedition 2025.

She successfully summited the 8,849-meter peak on May 18, 2025, at 4:45 am.

Rifiness Warjri's achievement is a testament to her perseverance and highlights the untapped potential of the youth in India's Northeast.

She had previously scaled Mount Abi Gamin, a 7,355-meter peak in Uttarakhand, in August last year.

Her parents, Shri Shlurbor Kharmyndai and Smti Diamondsea Warjri, have been her unwavering support throughout her journey.
