Miracle! Seat No. 11A- Vishwashkumar Ramesh, the lone survivor of Air India Crash in Ahmedabad

Digital Desk: The deadly Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 people crashed after take-off from Ahmedabad airport on June 12, with all people declared dead. However, in an extraordinary tale of survival, an Indian-origin man, (Vishwashkumar Ramesh) walked out of the Air India crash that killed 241 people.

Vishwashkumar Ramesh was in seat 11A of the London-bound Boeing 787 when it crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, western India.

Mr. Ramesh's brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, told BBC News that Vishwashkumar "has no idea how he survived" and evacuated the plane as the sole survivor.

Air India said that all other passengers and staff were dead.

Among the various recordings from the incident, one showed a man walking away in a bloodied shirt. He was later recognized as Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor and passenger on the doomed flight.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national, was visiting family in India. He was returning to the United Kingdom with his brother, Ajay Kumar Ramesh, 45. Vishwash was sitting in 11A, but his sibling was in a separate row on the plane.

Vishwash suffered impact injuries on his chest, eyes, and feet. He is currently being treated at the Civil Hospital, Asarwa, in Ahmedabad.

Dr. Rajnish Patel, professor and chief of surgery at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, told CNN that Vishwash's health is "not very critical" and that he will be discharged in the coming days.
