Digital Desk: On Tuesday morning, the mortal remains of renowned flutist Dipak Sarma, who died in Chennai early on Monday, arrived in Guwahati via a special chartered flight.
Dipak Sarma, 57, died on Monday in a Chennai hospital after a prolonged treatment for a rare liver ailment. He had been admitted to a hospital in Guwahati before being transferred to Chennai for specialized care.
Reports state that the plane carrying his remains took off from Chennai at around five in the morning and arrived in Guwahati not long after. His mortal remains were brought straight from the airport to his home in Ambikagiri Nagar.
The body will be brought to Seuj Sangha between 10 AM and 2 PM after the ceremonies at his house are finished, where supporters, cultural institutions, and well-wishers can pay their last respects.
For the last ceremonies, the mortal remains will be brought to the Navagraha crematorium after the public homage.
