Operation 'Sindoor': Pahalgam Attack avenged; India Strikes 9 Terror Bases In Pakistan

Digital Desk: Nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan- Occupied Kashmir, including Muridke and Bahawalpur, the strongholds of the terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, respectively, was targeted by missile attacks launched by the Indian military early on Wednesday.

Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, in the Anantnag region of Jammu & Kashmir, which killed 26 people on April 22—25 Indians and one Nepali citizen, the attacks, which began at 1:44 am, were carried out.

According to a Ministry of Defence release, terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been targeted, "from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed."

"Our acts were intended, measured, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military sites have been targeted. India has shown tremendous prudence in its target selection and implementation strategy, the statement added.

According to the Defence Ministry, India is following through on its promise to hold those responsible for the attack accountable.

India's strikes come just hours before a planned security mock rehearsal throughout the country for "effective civil defence in the event of a hostile attack" in 244 districts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to pursue the attackers and those involved in their conspiracy to the "ends of the earth" to punish them "beyond their imagination."

Hours after the Indian military conducted midnight aerial strikes on terror facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the Narendra Modi government is determined to respond appropriately to any attack on India and its citizens. He went on to say that the move was India's "response to the brutal killings" committed by terrorists in Pahalgam.
