PM Modi inaugurates Kartavya Bhavan; several look on, features added- deets here

Digital Desk: As part of the government's ambitious plan to consolidate central ministries and departments under one roof for smooth operation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a lavish ceremony on Wednesday to officially open the Kartavya Bhavan in Delhi.

As part of the broader Central Vista project, the Prime Minister inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-3, the first of several planned Common Central Secretariat (CCS) buildings.

The offices of the Ministries of Home Affairs, External Affairs, Rural Development, MSMEs, DoPT, Petroleum, and Natural Gas will be housed in the state-of-the-art building, which features chic conference rooms, contemporary conveniences, and CCTVs.

Additionally, the Kartavya Bhavan will have a number of green features, including rainwater harvesting, advanced HVAC systems, rooftop solar panels, and double-glazed glass windows. To save 30% on energy, power-efficient LED lighting will also be used.

The building, which spans 1.5 lakh square meters, will also house the Principal Scientific Adviser's (PSA) office.
