Furthermore, while the country struggles to cope with the tragedy, security authorities are working tirelessly to track down the terrorists and uncover the cruel strategy behind this attack.
The Resistance Front, a front for the outlawed Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for yesterday's attack. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has traveled to Kashmir to discuss the situation with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
According to eyewitnesses' confessions, the terrorists tested the tourists about their religion before shooting them dead. The bodies of those killed are currently being flown back to their families.
Notably, the Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed airlines to control prices so that visitors stuck in Kashmir can return home.
Following the terrorist assault, key cities throughout the country, including Delhi and Mumbai, have been placed on high alert.
