Pahalgam terror attack: J&K security forces destroy homes of 5 terrorists
Digital Desk: The Jammu and Kashmir authorities demolished numerous terrorists' homes on Saturday in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident, which murdered 26 people.
The security troops demolished Shahid Ahmed Kuttey's house in Chotipora village, Shopian.
On Friday night, law enforcement officials destroyed three terrorists' homes: one in Kulgam, one in Shopian, and one in Pulwama.
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants' homes were destroyed on Friday.
Officials stated that the explosives already stored inside the homes detonated when they were searching the homes of two LeT militants, Adil Hussain Thoker and Asif Sheikh.
Before returning to Jammu & Kashmir last year, Adil allegedly underwent terror training in Pakistan, where he had visited illegally in 2018.
Haris Ahmad, a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist active since 2023, had his house damaged in an explosion in Pulwama's Kachipora region. The security forces also demolished the home of Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, who was trained in Pakistan in 2018 and returned to the Kashmir Valley.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the Pahalgam incident, inspecting security and discussing efforts against terrorists in the region.
He also mentioned the Pakistan Army's attempts to violate the cease-fire along the Line of Control. Since the incident, ceasefire violations have risen, causing Indian forces to retaliate with fire and small guns, resulting in no casualties.
