Pakistan violates ceasefire: Pak targets key locations in India
Digital Desk: Just hours after reaching a ceasefire understanding with India, Pakistan violated the truce and launched more assaults on India, targeting key locations in India.
Artillery shelling was reported from the Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura sector along the international border and line of control.
Pakistan also launched drone attacks on key Indian locations.
India's air defence systems shot down drones in Rajasthan's Pokhran.
A drone attack was also reported from Srinagar as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by resorting to heavy artillery firing in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu-Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah shared a video of the drone attack in Srinagar as Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling, violating the ceasefire within hours.
While there has been drone activity at some locations, including parts of Kashmir, Jammu, and the forward lines of Punjab, the LoC sectors like Uri, Tangdhar, Keran, Nowgam, Gurez, and major areas of Rajouri and Poonch remained silent compared to the heavy artillery fire of the past few days.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri slammed Pakistan for the ceasefire violation along the Line of Control and the International Border. He asked Pakistan to contain the aggression by its army.
Forces have been instructed to deal strongly with any violations of the borders.
