President Murmu delays Assam visit due to “unavoidable circumstances” for 2nd time- confirms officials

Digital Desk: Official on June 10 confirmed the info of President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled day-long visit to Assam later this week was delayed.

According to reports, Murmu was set to present the Srimanta Sankardeva Award to famed dance virtuoso Sonal Mansingh at a state government gathering here on Thursday.

It should be noted that the delay transpired for the second time.

Citing PTI, Assam Governor's Secretariat source informed that "The President's visit is postponed. However, the program will go as planned, with the Governor presenting the award."

Murmu had planned to present the state award on April 25, but she had to postpone her two-day visit due to “unavoidable circumstances” following the Pahalgam terror attack.
