Rajasthan bus fire: 20 passengers burnt alive, 16 injured
Digital Desk: A devastating bus accident occurred in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district on Tuesday, leaving 20 people dead and 16 others critically injured. A private bus traveling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur caught fire on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway, near Thaiyat village, around 3 pm.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was carrying 57 passengers when smoke started emanating from the rear portion. The driver promptly stopped the vehicle on the roadside, but the flames spread rapidly, engulfing the bus. Panic-stricken passengers rushed to escape, but many were trapped inside.
Local residents, passersby, and Army personnel rushed to the scene to assist in rescue efforts. Fire tenders and police teams were immediately alerted, and the injured were rushed to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer. Those with severe burns were later referred to Jodhpur for advanced treatment.
