Sarbananda Sonowal confident of BJP’s victory in 2026 Assam polls

Digital Desk: Political momentum seems to be building up ahead of the 2026 Assam assembly elections, with parties and leaders resorting to political mudslinging.

Union minister and former Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed strong confidence that the BJP-led NDA will retain power in Assam after the 2026 Assembly elections in the state.

Sonowal asserted that the BJP’s performance over the past decade has earned the trust of the people of Assam.

Sonowal credited the success story of Assam’s development over the past 11 years to the special interest and commitment shown by Prime Minister Modi towards the North-east.

He further criticized the Congress, saying that the grand old party has lost its credibility and is no longer a significant political force in Assam.
