Shrinkhal Chaliha apprehended by Assam police in Sepon
Digital Desk: On Friday, Assam Police detained Shrinkhal Chaliha, Central Administrative Secretary of the Bir Lachit Sena, and Har Kumar Gogoi, the organization's Organising Secretary, during a Duliajan protest in Sepon.
Police reportedly halted the leaders and more than fifty members who were traveling to Duliajan in the Dibrugarh district to participate in the ongoing protests.
According to reports, the group was on its way to Duliajan to take part in protests calling for Tanu Shahi's arrest.
In the midst of strict security measures, authorities later stopped them at Sepon and arrested the group.
Following his detention, Shrinkhal Chaliha was transferred to the Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police's office for further questioning.
The remaining members of the Bir Lachit Sena were taken into custody at the Moran police station.
