Tai Khamti Language to be Introduced in Arunachal’s Namsai Schools from August 16

 

Digital Desk: On Friday, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein announced that the Tai Khamti language will become the third language in all government and private institutions, as well as Buddha Viharas across Namsai.

During a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Mini Secretariat Namsai, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that the language will be taught from primary to secondary levels beginning August 16.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the policy is implemented in all private institutions.

The Tai Khamti Heritage & Literary Society (TKHLS) has been tasked with printing the Primer for the primary level and training teachers in the indigenous language.

Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa, MLA Namsai, Chau Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Urmila Mancheykun, ZPM Chongkham, ADCs of Chongkham and Wakro, HoDs, community leaders, Head Bhantes of Namsai, Kherem, and the Golden Pagoda, as well as members of TKDS, TKSC, TKHLS, and ATKSSU, were also present at the meeting.
