Tata Motors in partnership with Axom Platinum Scrappers inaugurates registered vehicle scrapping facility in Guwahati

Digital Desk: Tata Motors announced on Saturday the opening of a registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in Guwahati, with the potential to disassemble up to 15,000 end-of-life vehicles per year.

The facility, operated by Tata Motors' partner Axom Platinum Scrappers, can trash both passenger and commercial vehicles of any brand.

With this, the local automaker now has seven such facilities, including in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, and Pune, according to the firm.

The occasion was also attended by Jogen Mohan and Ashok Singhal, ministers in the Assam government, as well as Sanjive Narain, Director of Axom Automobiles.

"Today, Tata Motors launches the Northeast's first Re.Wi.Re facility in Guwahati, marking a significant step forward in the region's responsible vehicle scrapping efforts." At the opening ceremony, Tata Motors Executive Director Girish Wagh stated that the "company is committed to the ideals of a circular economy and is promoting sustainable practices."

Every facility has been completely digitalized, and all of its processes are paperless and smooth. According to the carmaker, "There are designated stations for the safe breakdown of different components, such as tires, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases, and they are outfitted with cell-type and line-type dismantling for both commercial and passenger vehicles."

Under the country's vehicle scrappage regulation, every car goes through a rigorous documentation and disassembly procedure created especially to satisfy the responsible scrapping standards of passenger and commercial vehicles, ensuring the safe disposal of all components.

Tata Automotive, a $44 billion worldwide automaker of automobiles, trucks, buses, utility vehicles, and pick-ups, is a part of the $165 billion Tata Group and provides a wide range of integrated, smart, and e-mobility solutions.
