Tezpur University's Acting Registrar and Dean step down
Digital Desk: Due to the departure of two senior officials from important positions, Tezpur University has undergone a significant administrative reorganization. After submitting a request for relief to Acting Vice-Chancellor Raja Rafiqul Haque, who accepted his resignation, Acting Registrar Pritam Dev has been formally relieved of his duties.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the School of Engineering, Shankar Chandra Deka, has also resigned. According to reports, both officials were the target of grave charges, including allegedly pressuring subordinates to carry out immoral actions on the Vice-Chancellor's orders.
As authorities work to resolve the complaints made against senior functionaries, the resignations coincide with increased scrutiny of the university's internal administration.
It is anticipated that the university will start more internal reviews in order to bring accountability and transparency back to its administrative structure.
