USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque escorted to Guwahati
Digital Desk: Breaking news coming in at this point... A team of Sri Bhumi Police has left for Guwahati along with USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque and teacher Noman Ahmed.
USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque was taken out of Sri Bhumi Police Station at around 10:30 PM for further investigation over the alleged malpractice in a CBSE-conducted exam at Central Public School in Patharkandi.
It may be recalled here that Hoque was arrested from his residence at Ghoramara in Assam State Capital city, Guwahati, along with five other teachers of Central Public School at Patharkandi who were also arrested from their residence in Sribhumi district.
The school is run by the Education Research and Development Foundation, or ERDF, based in Guwahati and owned by Hoque. This foundation also runs USTM.
Earlier, Patharkandi Police Station OC, Someshwar Konwar, registered a case against the USTM Chancellor, the principal of Central Public School, Patharkhandi, Hiramoni Saikia, and teachers Bijoy Dutta, Rozak Ali, Imdadur Rahman, and Noman Ahmed.
