Uttarakhand: Glacier burst hits Badrinath Dham, Over 40 Construction Workers Feared Trapped, rescue ops underway
Digital Desk: A glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district caused an avalanche near Mana, trapping 57 workers. According to preliminary reports, 16 workers have been rescued, while the hunt for the remaining 41 continues.
According to reports, the trapped workers were under contract with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
The state administration and a Border Roads Organisation team have departed for the location.

A day before, heavy rains created landslides, causing stones and debris to fall in the area.
It has been reported that a private contractor employed these people to construct roads.
According to Uttarakhand Police Headquarters spokesperson IG Nilesh Anand Bharne, "a big avalanche occurred near the Border Roads Organisation camp in the Mana border area, trapping 57 road construction workers. Ten of these workers were rescued and taken to an army barracks near Mana in critical condition"
