Zubeen Garg Death Case: Assam Association of Singapore President Clarifies Role and Expresses Willingness to Assist in the Ongoing Probe

Digital Desk: Abhimanyu Talukdar, President of the Assam Association of Singapore, addressed pervasive rumors about the group's involvement and the contentious Northeast festival held in Singapore in his first public statement since the untimely death of Assam's iconic singer Zubeen Garg.

In an interview with the media, Talukdar denied any connection between the Assam Association and the yacht allegedly linked to the singer's final hours.

"The yacht was not booked by me or any Assam Association member," Talukdar explained. I don't know if the North East Festival went on after Zubeen's death. I can't speak for participants from other Northeastern states because they were also involved in the event.

Talukdar clarified that the group had taken swift action in response to criticism regarding the apparent lag in Assamese expatriates speaking up.

He shared that the association had fully supported the Singapore Police investigation, highlighting their collaboration with law enforcement.

He emphasized that the public should avoid speculative and false information, saying, "We have been fully cooperative from the beginning and remain dedicated to supporting a fair and transparent investigation into Zubeen Garg's death."

Talukdar concluded by restating the association's dedication to being truthful and forthcoming.
