Zubeen Garg Death Probe Update: Shekharjyoti Goswami, Amritprabha Mahanta To be moved to Haflong Jail
Digital Desk: Amritprabha Mahanta and Shekhar Jyoti Goswami are expected to be taken into Haflong Jail on Friday. After serving 14 days in CID custody, the duo was brought before the CJM Court.
They are currently in judicial custody in relation to the ongoing investigation into the singer Zubeen Garg's unexplained death.
Both were presented to the CJM court and underwent regular, highly secure medical examinations at the CID office and the court.
The transfer takes place in the midst of increased security after earlier unrest in Baksa, where fans of the deceased singer fought against police and demanded justice. Law enforcement made sure everything ran smoothly today.
These arrests come as part of a broader investigation that has already resulted in the detention of seven people. Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddhart Sharma, Zubeen's cousin Sandeepan Garg, and two of his personal security guards, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, are among the five who are still being held at Baksa Jail.
The public is still very interested in the case, and there are increasing calls for an open and expedited investigation into Zubeen Garg's tragic death.
