Zubeen Garg PSOs arrested over Rs 1 crore transactions uncovered

Digital Desk: Two personal security officers (PSOs) of the late singer Zubeen Garg have been taken into custody by Assam Police after they discovered financial transactions from their accounts totaling more than Rs 1.1 crore.

The PSOs who were arrested, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, had amounts in one account of Rs 70 lakh and another of Rs 45 lakh that were significantly more than their known sources of income.

For the last four days, they have been questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). According to Garima Saikia Garg, Zubeen's wife, the funds were provided to the PSOs in support of his social welfare efforts.

Zubeen Garg's personal security officers (PSOs), Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, have been placed under five days' police custody by the CJM Court.

She urged that the investigation stay focused on finding the truth rather than becoming politicized, saying, "The PSOs have all the bank statements and maintained a diary of various transactions."

Originally assigned by Assam Police in response to threats from the outlawed ULFA group, both PSOs had been with the singer for almost ten years.

The SIT is still investigating the issue. Seven people have been taken into custody thus far in relation to the passing of singer Zubeen Garg.

Authorities hope to file a chargesheet in the upcoming months as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues to look into the case, concentrating on both possible negligence and financial irregularities.
