Ambubachi Mela 2025: SOP Issued for (22-26 June), Minister Ranjit Dass urged devotees to maintain order

Digital Desk: The Assam government is geared up to welcome lakhs of devotees to the Kamakhya temple during the forthcoming ‘Ambubachi Mela’.  

Minister Ranjit Dass appeals for orderly conduct, to maintain decorum, an SOP was issued for the Ambubachi Mahayog in 2025, which is scheduled from June 22 to June 26.

During the Ambubachi Mela, the group entry of sadhus into the Kamakhya Temple premises has been prohibited.

Minister Ranjit Dass has appealed to devotees to avoid crowding and chaos during the festival.

The following are SoPs that are to be followed by the people entering the temple premises-

1-|Group entry barred for Sadhus inside the temple.

2|Devotees urged to maintain decorum inside the temple.

3|Devotees requested to follow footwear protocols, and need to leave footwear outside before entering the temple.

4| Priority on comfort; people walking barefoot may wear socks.

A high-level meeting was held on Tuesday at the District Commissioner’s office to discuss festival preparations, with various temple committees and the tourism minister set to hold further discussions.
