Assam’s highest civilian awards Recipients to receive 15 days free accommodation at Assam Bhawan, Houses & Circuit

Digital Desk: A big move announced by the Assam Government, The recipients of Assam's highest civilian awards, Assam Baibhav, Assam Saurabh, and Assam Gaurav, would receive free accommodation at Assam Bhawan, Assam Houses, and Circuit Houses.

The announcement is to be carried on (with prior notice) for a period of 15 days, the Assam government said in an official statement on March 21.

However, it is to be mentioned that apart from the aforementioned facility, there are other knacks provided to the awardees:

• When possible, stay in a paying cabin and receive free medical care in government hospitals.

• They would be given free lodging in Assam Bhawans, guest houses, and state government circuit houses.

• They will be invited as distinguished guests regularly to all official engagements.

• Up to Rs. 2 lakh would be covered by the Assamese government for medical costs related to the treatment of serious illnesses.

• In addition to award money and specific facilities for recipients, honorees will also be eligible for free travel on ASTC buses as long as they provide a 24-hour notice of their intended itinerary.

Likewise, the Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards are the highest civilian awards of the Government of India. The Government of Assam introduced the Assam Civilian Awards: Assam Baibhav, Assam Saurav, and Assam Gaurav.
