Assam DGP GP Singh bids Emotional farewell on his last Republic Day Celebration
Digital Desk: Director General of Assam Police (DGP) GP Singh sank in momentary sadness during his final Republic Day celebration in Assam, reflecting on his 24-year career of service to the state.
Singh, who initially took part in the Republic Day celebrations at Khanapara in 2000, recalled fond memories of that day that he retained with him throughout his career. "I vividly remember attending the Republic Day celebrations at Khanapara in 2000 when Lieutenant General Srinivas Kumar Sinha was the Governor of Assam."
He went on to say, "It's been an incredible 24-year journey. This will most likely be my final participation in Assam's central function. "Serving the people of Assam has been a deeply emotional experience," Singh told reporters.
Singh expressed heartfelt thanks for the consistent support of the Assam Police and the people of the state throughout his tenure. He said with apparent emotion, "I have nothing more to say."
The Central Government has chosen Assam's Director General of Police, GP Singh, as the new Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force.
