Digital Desk: In response to fan requests, the Assam government has extended the visiting hours at Zubeen Kshetra, the Sonapur memorial dedicated to the late singer Zubeen Garg, by one hour, until 11 PM.
Following an appeal by the Zubeen Garg Fan Club to keep the memorial open until midnight, the decision was made.
The government chose to keep the site open to visitors every day from 6 AM to 11 PM, even though it did not approve a complete extension until 12 AM.
Officials made it clear that it is strictly forbidden for anyone under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance to enter or stay on the property. Additionally, it is strictly prohibited to consume, serve, or distribute alcohol within and near the memorial grounds.
The District Magistrate's office has taken steps to preserve the sanctity of the Zubeen Kshetra, a destination for fans mourning the loss of the legendary performer. They have also asked guests to abide by rules and work together to keep the place peaceful.
