Harmeet Singh has been appointed as the acting DGP of Assam Police

Digital desk: Harmeet Singh has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) in charge of Assam, succeeding GP Singh.

GP Singh, the present DGP of Assam, has been appointed as Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Harmeet Singh also serves as the Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of the Home Guards. He also holds the positions of Special DGP (Headquarters), Special DGP-cum-Director of Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), and Special DGP (Border), Assam.
