IMD issues yellow alert for Assam
Digital Desk: A yellow alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Assam from June 11 to June 16. There is a possibility of severe weather conditions during the next five days.
Rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusts of 30 to 40 kmph are predicted in many areas of the state, according to the forecast. Heavy rainfall is expected in a number of locations during this time, increasing the risk of localized flooding and waterlogging.
In Guwahati and the surrounding areas, the IMD predicted a partly cloudy sky with a probability of thunderstorms or lightning development until June 16. Moderate rainfall might also occur.
The highest and lowest temperatures are expected to begin at roughly 36°C and 26°C, then progressively drop to 34°C and 27°C as the weather pattern evolves.
