Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma arrested and brought to Guwahati

 

Digital Desk: Siddhartha Sharma, Zubeen Garg's manager, and Shyamkanu Mahanta, the primary organizer of the North East India Festival (NEIF), were arrested on Wednesday morning in a significant step in the investigation into the tragic death of Zubeen Garg.

After arriving from Singapore, Mahanta was arrested at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, while Sharma was reportedly picked up from an apartment in Gurgaon.

Air India flight IX1197 took both to Guwahati on the same day, landing at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 6:42 AM.

Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma were taken from the Chief Judicial Magistrate's (CJM) residence to the CID headquarters. 

 


 

The Chief Judicial Magistrate has remanded both suspects to 14 days in police custody.
