Digital Desk: On February 25, ULFA (Independent) cadre Arunjay Bora, alias Ujjal Asom, surrendered to the Tinsukia police.
Bora, a resident of Tekeri village in Pengeri, Tinsukia, laid down his arms at Ritukathalguri, effectively ending his involvement with the proscribed terrorist group.
According to reports, he joined the ULFA (I) in 2018.
His surrender is another step in security forces' continuous attempts to reduce militancy in Assam and ease the reintegration of former militants into mainstream society.
