Assam: Monsoon Arrival Call leads Kaziranga jeep safari to close from May 19
Digital Desk: Jeep safaris at Assam's Kaziranga National Park will be restricted indefinitely from May 19, in consideration of the upcoming monsoon season.
Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve is the largest in the North East and attracts a huge number of domestic and foreign tourists due to its famous one-horned rhinoceros.
"In view of persistent bad weather and poor road conditions, Jeep Safari at Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve will remain closed from May 19th, 2025 until further notice," the Chief Minister's Office announced in a post on X, releasing the Forest Department's order document.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site in Assam, is home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinos, various mammals, and thousands of birds, situated near the Brahmaputra river.
