Assam: State Government hikes DA before Bihu by 2 per cent for employees and pensioners

Digital Desk: In an important announcement that will assist state government employees and pensioners, the Assam Cabinet has approved a 2% rise in Dearness Allowance (DA).

The raise will become effective on January 1, 2025, providing financial assistance to thousands of people.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the move, saying that the revised DA would be included to pay before Bihu, bringing festive happiness to government employees.

In addition, arrears from January to March will be disbursed in April and May.

In the face of growing inflation, this action shows the government's dedication to enhancing worker welfare.

The most recent DA modification comes after earlier raises intended to assist state seniors and employees.

This raise is part of Assam's ongoing attempts to bring government salaries into line with economic realities while guaranteeing prompt disbursement prior to holidays.
