Assam weather update: Rain alert issued across Northeast states- IMD reports
Digital Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for May 15 across Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam, warning of heavy rainfall.

According to IMD, isolated parts in the Northeast are expected to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during the next five days.

Heavy rains have been predicted in Arunachal Pradesh until May 18, and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on May 15. Heavy downpours are also expected in Assam and Meghalaya on May 15 and 16.
The IMD requested people in the Northeast to be aware of local advisories and to take precautions to deal with the weather conditions.
