It has been learned that city-based scribe Dilwar Hussain Mozumdar has been re-arrested by the Assam police, despite being granted bail in a previous case.
Police raided journalist Dilwar Hussain Mozumdar's residence in Guwahati's Pragjyotish Housing Complex in the early hours. They seized documents and took him to the police station.
Mozumdar was initially arrested for questioning the Managing Director of Assam Cooperative Apex Bank about alleged financial irregularities during a protest.
In a major overnight development amid massive protests staged by the Guwahati-based fraternity of journalists besides the rest of Assam, arrested Guwahati-based journalist, Dilwar Hussain Mozumdar was granted bail by a local court.
Dilwar Hussain was granted bail by the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Kamrup-Metro district on late Wednesday evening.
However, Dilwar Hussain had to spend the night at the Pan Bazar police station in Guwahati city.
